SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE (AVOIDANCE)
Patient Counselling
Patients with recurrent aphthous ulcers should avoid the use of SLS-containing toothpastes. Alternatively, an SLS-free toothpaste (e.g. Rembrandt Premium Whitening Mint Toothpaste, Burt’s Bees Natural Toothpaste or Sensodyne ProNamel Mint Essence Toothpaste) should be recommended to prevent aggravation or recurrence of aphthous ulcers (5).
