The use of bayberry in the treatment of diarrhea is not supported by any strong evidence. Subsequently, its use may result in considerable side effects and can interact with a variety of prescription medications (mineralocorticoids). While its overall use is mostly safe, the use of bayberry in diarrhea should be reserved only for physician referral to this specific product.
While the oral route of administration of Bayberry is considered unsafe, it is the most common dosage form available.
