AMLEXANOX
Patient Counselling
Amlexanox works by reducing irritation and inflammation of your canker sore. Apply amlexanox directly onto the canker sore(s) 4 times/day following oral hygiene, after meals, and at bedtime. Side effects are rare, but include allergic reactions, irritation at the application site(s) and inflammation of the mouth. If you experience any of these side effects, stop using the product and consult your healthcare provider. The safety and effectiveness of amlexanox has not been established in children, and the product has not been studied in patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding (8).
