- Undecylinic acid is more effective compared to placebo however in light of newer agents has been phased to a questionable alternative to first line therapy. Treatment with undecylinic acid is not suggested after first line therapy failure, but first line therapy can be an alternative to undecylinic acid if unsuccessful.
