AMLEXANOX
PRODUCT EXAMPLES
Amlexanox is an approved Schedule I drug in Canada (6). There are no approved products available, so amlexanox must be compounded (7). Formulations tested in trials include amlexanox compounded in to a paste or a disc to be applied topically (5).
Amlexanox 5% is available in the United States as a product called “Aphthasol”, which also contains benzoyl alcohol (8).
