- Consecutive use may be more effective than a single dose. Effects may increase over 4 weeks
- Take up to 2 hours before bed
- Avoid driving or using machinery until the effects on alertness are well established
- Common side effects can include: headache, dizziness, upset stomach, and nausea
- Do not discontinue abruptly after prolonged use as withdrawal effects can occur
- Avoid 2 weeks before surgery (increased bleeding and added CNS depression effects when combined with anesthesia)
- Recommended dose (oral): 400-600mg root extract per day
