Patient Counselling
- Lots of patients find the effects of menthol soothing due to its cooling properties
- Avoid contact in eyes, mouth nose, and genitals
- Wash hands after applying
- Keep away from young children
- Menthol 0.25-3% is mostly used while higher concentrations can lead to irritation
- Used PRN up to TID
- Can be used in pregnancy
- Don’t use if there is open skin
- Only use if small area of skin affected
