Patient Counselling
· All alginate products currently on the market also contain antacids.
· For acid reflux, dyspepsia, and heartburn to prevent or treat symptoms.
· Forms protective foam on top of stomach contents to decrease reflux. Antacid combinations decrease acid in the
stomach.
· Side effects: nausea, vomiting, burping, gas, constipation, and diarrhea. Most people do not experience side effects.
· Do not take within 2 hours of other medications. May interfere with absorption.
· The dose and frequency depends on the product chosen and when symptoms
occur.
· Should start working right away, and last for up to 4 hours.
· Take after a meal, will not work if taken before.
· Shake liquids well before use or chew tablets thoroughly.
· Store this product at room temperature.
· Discontinue and consult physician if condition worsens or persists for greater than 14 days.
