Toothpaste
Mouthrinse
Fluoride supplements (tablets, lozenges or liquids)
- Do not take with milk or other diary products, calcium, magnesium or iron
- Wait 30 minutes after using fluoride rinse or gel before drinking coffee or eating.
- Seek medical attention of you or your child ingests a large amount of fluoride and is experiencing nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and/or abdominal pain.
- Store at room temperature in a dry place.
Toothpaste
- Brush with the toothpaste for 2 minutes and then spit out
- For children who are under the age of 3 and are at risk of tooth decay, use only a grain-of-rice size amount of fluoride toothpaste.
- For children over the age of 3 use a small pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste and ensure the child does not swallow the toothpaste.
Mouthrinse
- Swish around in your mouth for one minute then spit out.
- Supervise young children who use fluoride mouthrinses to ensure that they do not swallow the mouthrinse.
Fluoride supplements (tablets, lozenges or liquids)
- Suck or chew lozenges for 1-2 minutes before being swallowed.
- For chewable tablets, chew or crush well or mix with water or fruit juice. Do not swallow whole. Use before bedtime.
