How does it work? When to use it?
- This product contains combination of triclosan/copolymer/sodium fluoride. It is available in the form of toothpaste.
- It is indicated for prevention of cavities, plaque, gingivitis and calculus.
- Some evidence exists for its use in controlling oral malodor (halitosis) for upto 12 hours. It is not officially indicated for bad breath but some research exists for controlling bad breath.
- If the alternatives for halitosis treatment are not working out for you, speak with your health care provider before using this product as there maybe some underlying cause that may need attention.
How to use it?
- Apply pea-sized amount of toothpaste to a dry soft-bristled toothbrush and brush for atleast 2 minutes
- Brush after each meal or at minimum two times a day (about 12 hours apart)
- Rinse mouth after use, do not ingest toothpaste
When not to use it? Any side effects?
- If you are using this product for bad breath and it is not helping you, seek medical advice for assessment and/or alternate therapy
- No adverse effects are reported
- If you experience irritation that is intolerable, you may be sensitive to one of the ingredients in the product. Seek advice from health care practitioner on alternate products if you are using it for treatment of halitosis.
- As it is available without prescription, patients are advised to seek medical attention if they have oral pain, oral bleeding or redness lasting more than 2 weeks, swelling, pus, increased spacing between teeth or loose teeth.
