Patient Counselling
Before use, clean the affected area with mild soap and water, rinse well, and pat dry. Use your finger to apply a pea-sized amount of the product to the outside of the anus only and rub gently. Do not cover the affected area with bandages or plastic, unless directed otherwise. To apply this product inside the anus, use the applicator. Fill the applicator with medication from the container and insert the applicator tip just 1.5-2.5cm inside the anus. Do not use your finger to apply this medication inside the anus. Use the product in the morning, evening, and after a bowel movement up to 4 times a day. Use the medication regularly to get the most benefit from it.
Common side effects may include mucosal atrophy (more common with prolonged use), dryness, burning, and local irritation.
Avoid using the product for longer than 7 days. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens after 1 week.
Store at room temperature. Do not refrigerate. Avoid getting the product in the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth. Keep out of reach of children.
