- There is currently no well-known standardization for magnesium, or accepted dose for dysmenorrhea prevention.
- Do not take high dose supplements if severe kidney disease or heart block.
- Magnesium supplements should be taken with meals. Taking them on an empty stomach may cause diarrhea. Swallow the tablets whole.
- Keep out of reach of children, and store the supplement in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and direct light.
- Severe side effects may be symptoms of hypermagnesia. Consult with your physician immediately if the following occur: hypotension, drowsiness, loss of tendon reflexes, muscle weakness, difficulty breathing.
